Trusting Ourselves

I follow Marie Forleo’s blog and absorb her brilliant business advice. I read Danielle LaPorte’s work and ponder her questions. I watch my friend Lori-Lyn’s Soul Circle videos.

But I always, always, always check in with myself before making a move.

If there’s anything I’ve learned in my 8 weeks of being a mother it’s that intuition is golden. If I didn’t know it before, I definitely know it now.

We must learn to trust ourselves.

I listen to the stories of other mothers and their experiences. Of other wives and their marriages. Of my own family and their individual journeys.

But I always, always, always check in with myself before making a move.

So much attention is focused on us learning from outside world experiences. And though there is great value in all of that, I think each of us would live happier lives, if we listened to ourselves more than we listened to others.

I allow myself to take in the knowledge and lessons of others that resonate with me and feel good to implement into my own life. However, if someones story doesn’t “feel” right with me or works up some kind of irritation within. I say “no thank you. That’s their idea, not mine.” and let it go.

I always, always, always check in with myself before making a move.
